Delete your account
You delete your Restoc account yourself, in Settings > Account. One confirmation removes the account and everything stored about your store, and cancels any active Shopify charge.
Restoc is not open yet, so anything on this page about what it does is what it is being built to do.
When you need this
You are closing the store, moving to something else, or you connected the wrong store and want to start clean. The control is in the app, under Settings > Account. Nobody has to action it for you.
Two things happen in the same action: your data is removed, and any active Shopify charge is cancelled. There is no separate archive of your data, so once it is gone there is nothing to restore from. Export first if you want to keep the numbers.
If you only want the emails to stop, you do not need this page. Switch email alerts off in Settings > Alerts and keep your history.
Delete the account
- Export your data first
Settings > Account exports a JSON file of everything held about your account and store. Download it before you delete, because deletion leaves no archive behind. If you want the reorder numbers in a spreadsheet instead, take the weekly report CSV before you start.
- Open Settings > Account
The export and the deletion sit on the same screen, in that order. Read what the deletion covers before you confirm it.
- Type your account email to confirm
The confirmation asks for the email address you sign in with. That is the deliberate step, so the deletion cannot happen on a stray click.
- Confirm, and everything goes at once
The account and everything stored about your store are deleted together: the Shopify connection and its access token, every SKU, every sales record, every alert and every report.
- Check the Shopify side
Any active Shopify charge is cancelled as part of the deletion. Uninstalling Restoc from your Shopify admin also ends billing, so you can do that too if you want the app off the store.
What is removed
Deleting the account removes, in one action:
- Your name, email address and the hash of your password
- Your store's .myshopify.com domain, the Shopify Admin API access token and the app's API secret key
- Tracked SKUs: title, your SKU code, Shopify variant id, current stock, lead time and computed reorder point
- Sales quantities and dates per SKU with the Shopify order reference, which is what the velocity window was reading
- Your alert settings, including the alert email address and any Slack webhook URL
- Sync bookkeeping, every reorder alert and every weekly report
While the account is open, sales history is kept because it feeds the velocity calculation for as long as you use the product, and usage events are deleted after 16 weeks. Deletion does not wait for either of those windows. It removes everything at once.
Payment details were never ours to hold: they stay with Shopify, which bills the subscription on your Shopify invoice. Your own Shopify records live in your Shopify admin and are not affected by deleting a Restoc account.
If it did not work
If the confirmation will not accept your email, check you are typing the address you sign in with, exactly as it appears on the account.
If the screen will not complete, or you deleted the account and still see a Shopify charge on your invoice, email support@restocapp.com from the address on the account and say which store it was. Every message there lands in the support desk.
If you are deleting because the setup never got going, the getting started article covers connecting a store and saving a first lead time, and the reorder point article covers the velocity window. It may be a shorter route than starting over.
Questions
Where is the delete control?
In the app, under Settings > Account. The data export sits on the same screen.
Can I get my data back after deleting?
No. Deleting removes everything at once and there is no separate archive of your data, so there is nothing to restore from. Export the JSON file from Settings > Account before you delete.
Does deleting cancel my subscription?
Yes. Any active Shopify charge is cancelled as part of the deletion. Uninstalling Restoc from your Shopify admin also ends billing.
What exactly is in the export?
A JSON file of everything held about your account and store, which is the same set of records the deletion removes: account details, the store connection, tracked SKUs, sales records, alert settings, alerts and reports.
Is the Shopify access token deleted too?
Yes. The Shopify connection and its access token are removed with the rest of the account. They were only ever stored server-side and never shown in the app.
I just want the alert emails to stop. Do I have to delete?
No. Change or switch off email alerts in Settings > Alerts and your account, history and reorder points stay where they are.
What happens to my store's data in Shopify?
Nothing. Restoc reads products, inventory levels and orders from your store; your Shopify records stay in your Shopify admin.
