Export your data from Restoc
You can export your data from Restoc yourself, in the app. Settings > Account exports a JSON file of everything held about your account and store, and the weekly reorder report exports as CSV.
Restoc is not open yet, so anything on this page about what it does is what it is being built to do.
What this article covers
Restoc has two exports, and they answer different questions. Pick the one that matches what you need.
The account export
Settings > Account exports a JSON file of everything held about your account and store. Use it when you want a copy of your own records, or before you delete the account.
The reorder report CSV
The weekly reorder report is viewable in the app and exportable as CSV, listing the SKUs below their reorder point with a suggested order quantity. That is the file you take to a supplier. The weekly reorder report article covers reading and exporting it.
Export the JSON file of your account and store
- Sign in to Restoc
Sign in with your email address and password. Restoc is a web app, so do this on a desktop browser where you can save a file.
- Open Settings > Account
Account settings is where both the export and account deletion live. Nothing here touches your Shopify store's own data.
- Export your data
The export produces a JSON file of everything held about your account and store. One file, one request, no ticket to raise.
- Save the file somewhere you keep records
It is your copy. Restoc keeps no separate archive of it for you, so store it where you store your other business records.
- Export first if you are about to delete the account
Deleting the account removes the Shopify connection and its access token, every SKU, sales record, alert and report at once. Take the export before you confirm the deletion, not after.
What the export covers
The file covers what Restoc holds about your account and store. That is:
- Your name and email address.
- Your store's .myshopify.com domain, and sync bookkeeping: when it last synced, whether stock came from Shopify or sample data, how much of your catalogue it read, and any sync error. The Shopify Admin API access token and the app's API secret key are stored server-side and never shown in the app.
- Tracked SKUs: title, your own SKU code, Shopify variant id, current stock, lead time and computed reorder point.
- Sales quantities and dates per SKU, with the Shopify order reference. No customer names, addresses or payment details are stored, so none appear.
- Your alert settings: the email address reorder alerts go to, and a Slack webhook URL if you set one.
- Which setup steps your account reached, and when it reached each.
- Your plan tier, trial end date and the state of your Shopify subscription charge. Payment details stay with Shopify and never reach Restoc.
- Usage events, which record when you last used the app and which core actions you completed. Events older than 16 weeks are deleted, so they are not in the file.
If it did not work, or you need something else
If the export does not produce a file, email support@restocapp.com with your store's .myshopify.com domain. Every message there lands in the support desk.
Deleting as well as exporting
Deletion sits in the same place, Settings > Account. You type your account email to confirm, and any active Shopify charge is cancelled. Uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin also ends billing.
Sales history and the numbers behind it
Sales history is kept while your account is open, because it feeds the velocity calculation. If you are checking an export against what the dashboard shows, the reorder point setup article explains how the velocity window and lead time produce each number.
Questions
What format is the account export?
A JSON file. It holds everything Restoc has about your account and store, in one file.
Where do I export from?
Settings > Account in the app. Restoc is a web app, so there is no mobile app or browser extension to do it from.
Does exporting delete my account?
No. Export and delete are two separate actions in Settings > Account. Deletion asks you to type your account email to confirm.
Can I export just the SKUs I need to reorder?
Yes, through the weekly reorder report. It exports as CSV, listing the SKUs below their reorder point with a suggested order quantity.
Are my customers' details in the export?
No. Restoc stores sales quantities and dates per SKU with the Shopify order reference, and no customer names, addresses or payment details, so none can appear.
Will my usage history be complete?
Usage events older than 16 weeks are deleted, so the export covers the last 16 weeks of them. Sales history is kept while your account is open.
Is there an archive if I lose the file?
No. Deleting your account removes everything at once and there is no separate archive, so keep the file you export.
