Weekly reorder report: read it and export the CSV
The weekly reorder report lists the SKUs that have dropped below their reorder point, each with a suggested order quantity. You read it in the app and export it as CSV when it is time to place orders.
Restoc is not open yet, so anything on this page about what it does is what it is being built to do.
What this report is for
Restoc produces a reorder report each week. It lists the SKUs that sit below their reorder point and gives each one a suggested order quantity. Nothing else is in it. SKUs with enough cover are left out, so the report is the short list you work from, not a catalogue.
Use it when you sit down to raise orders with suppliers. The dashboard is for the daily look at current stock, days of inventory remaining and reorder status per SKU. The report is the weekly list of what to buy.
Two things have to be in place before the numbers mean anything: a lead time for the SKU and a sales velocity window for the store. Without those, Restoc has nothing to work the reorder point from.
Read your weekly reorder report
- Set the lead time on each SKU
Lead time is your number, in days, from placing the order to the stock being sellable. Restoc does not guess it. Enter it per SKU in your reorder rules. This is also the step that gives a SKU its first reorder point.
- Choose the sales velocity window
Pick 7, 14 or 30 days. A short window follows recent demand closely, a long one smooths items that sell in bursts. On Pro you can override the window on individual SKUs when sizes or colours deplete differently.
- Open the weekly reorder report
Go to the weekly report in the app. Every row is a SKU that was below its reorder point when the report ran, with its suggested order quantity beside it.
- Check the suggested quantity against your own constraints
The suggestion comes from the same sales velocity and lead time that set the reorder point. It does not know your supplier's case sizes, minimums or cash position. Treat it as the starting number and round it to what you can actually order.
- Export the report as CSV
Use the export on the report to download the same rows as a CSV file. That is the copy you paste into a purchase order, a spreadsheet, or an email to a supplier.
- Leave alerts on for the days in between
The report is weekly. Alerts are immediate: when a SKU crosses its reorder point, Restoc sends an email, and on Growth and above a Slack message through your webhook. The two together mean you are not waiting a week to find out.
If the report is not what you expected
Work through it in this order.
- A SKU missing from the list: open the dashboard and look at its reorder status and days of inventory remaining. If it shows no reorder point, it has no lead time yet.
- A quantity that looks too small: the velocity window may be too long for an item that sells in bursts. Try 7 days and compare.
- A quantity that looks too large: the lead time on that SKU is probably longer than your supplier actually takes. Correct the lead time rather than the quantity.
- A number in the CSV you cannot explain: the export carries the same rows as the report on screen, so compare the two side by side first.
Still not right, email support@restocapp.com with the SKU and the number you expected, and we will tell you which input produced it.
Questions
Which SKUs appear in the weekly reorder report?
Only the SKUs below their reorder point when the report ran, each with a suggested order quantity. SKUs above their reorder point are not listed.
Where does the suggested order quantity come from?
From the same two inputs that set the reorder point: your sales velocity over the chosen window of 7, 14 or 30 days, and the lead time you entered for that SKU.
Can I export the report?
Yes. The report exports as a CSV file containing the same SKUs and suggested quantities you see in the app. CSV export of the reorder report is included from the Starter plan upwards.
Can different SKUs use different velocity windows?
The window is set for the store on Starter and Growth. The Pro plan adds a per-SKU sales velocity window override, for stores where some items sell evenly and others in bursts.
Does the report replace alerts?
No. The report is the weekly list you order from. Alerts fire when a SKU crosses its reorder point: email on every plan, email and Slack on Growth and Pro.
Why is my reorder point zero on a SKU that clearly sells?
A reorder point needs a lead time from you and sales velocity from your store's history. Save the lead time on that SKU first, then check it again on the dashboard.
Is the report the same as the dashboard?
No. The dashboard shows current stock, days of inventory remaining and reorder status for every active SKU. The weekly report is the shorter list of SKUs below their reorder point, with quantities, for the week.
