Your free trial
Every Restoc plan carries a 30-day free trial, and starting it does not ask for a card. This article covers which 30 days you get on each plan, where the end date is held, and what happens when it runs out.
Restoc is not open yet, so anything on this page about what it does is what it is being built to do.
What the trial is
The trial is 30 days, and it is the same 30 days on all six plans Restoc sells: Starter, Growth and Pro, monthly or annual. Trial length is not a reason to pick one plan over another.
What does change is how much of your catalogue you can watch during those 30 days, and where the alerts go.
- Starter tracks up to 200 SKUs and alerts by email.
- Growth tracks up to 1,000 SKUs and adds Slack alerts through an incoming webhook.
- Pro tracks up to 2,000 SKUs and adds a per-SKU velocity window override.
All three plans cover one location. Read this article when you are choosing which plan to trial, when you want to know where your end date is kept, and when you want to know what happens the day it runs out.
Use the 30 days well
- Pick the plan by SKU count, not by trial length
Count the variants you need watched, then pick the tier that covers them: 200 on Starter, 1,000 on Growth, 2,000 on Pro. Caps are enforced server side at sync time, so a catalogue above the cap is not quietly tracked anyway.
- Connect your Shopify store on the first day
The install reads your products, inventory levels and orders from Shopify, through webhooks plus a scheduled sync job. Payment details stay with Shopify and never reach Restoc. What Restoc holds is your plan tier, your trial end date and the state of your Shopify subscription charge.
- Save a lead time and a velocity window on one SKU
Give a SKU its lead time in days and pick a sales velocity window of 7, 14 or 30 days. Restoc computes that SKU's reorder point from those two numbers and watches it from then on. That is the product doing its job on your own stock, and it is the one thing worth doing in the first hour.
- Point alerts at the inbox or channel you read
Alerts fire when a SKU crosses its reorder point: email on every plan, and a Slack webhook as well on Growth and Pro. Set the destination to somewhere you actually look, not an address nobody opens.
- Read the weekly reorder report before the end date
The weekly report lists the SKUs below their reorder point with a suggested order quantity, in the app and as a CSV export. Four weekly cycles fit inside 30 days, so you can judge the numbers against what you actually ordered.
- Decide before the last day
Your trial end date is held alongside your plan tier and charge state, so the app knows the day the 30 days run out. Make the keep-or-stop call before that day rather than after it.
Trial length by plan
| Plan | Price | Free trial |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $9 / month | 30 days |
| Growth | $19 / month | 30 days |
| Pro | $29 / month | 30 days |
| Starter (annual) | $90 / year | 30 days |
| Growth (annual) | $190 / year | 30 days |
| Pro (annual) | $290 / year | 30 days |
When the 30 days end
To carry on, you pick a plan and the charge goes on your Shopify invoice. Monthly plans bill each month. The annual plans bill once a year and come out at two months free against paying monthly, about 17% off.
Two things end billing, both in your own hands:
- Uninstalling Restoc from your Shopify admin ends billing.
- Deleting your account in Settings, then Account, cancels any active Shopify charge and removes the Shopify connection and its access token, every SKU, sales record, alert and report at the same time. The same screen exports a JSON file of everything held about your account and store, so take that export first if you want to keep the numbers.
Your plan's tracked SKU cap is enforced at sync time, so if your catalogue has grown past the tier you trialled, check the count before the end date rather than after it.
If something does not match
If the trial terms you were shown differ from the ones here, or you are not sure which tier fits your catalogue, email support@restocapp.com and say roughly how many SKUs your store carries. Every message there lands in the support desk.
For what sits either side of this article: Getting started walks the whole setup in order, Reorder point calculation explains how the velocity window and the lead time produce the number, Plans and prices lists what each tier includes, Cancel your subscription covers stopping, and Invoices and receipts covers where the charge appears.
Questions
How long is the free trial?
Thirty days. Every plan Restoc sells declares the same 30-day trial, monthly and annual.
Do I need a card to start it?
No. Payment details stay with Shopify and never reach Restoc; what Restoc stores is your plan tier, your trial end date and the state of your Shopify subscription charge.
Does a bigger plan get a longer trial?
No. Starter, Growth and Pro all carry 30 days, so choose on tracked SKU cap and alert channels instead: 200 SKUs and email on Starter, 1,000 with Slack on Growth, 2,000 with a per-SKU velocity window override on Pro.
What happens on the last day?
You pick a plan to carry on, and the charge is billed on your Shopify invoice: each month on the monthly plans, once a year on the annual ones.
Can I take annual billing instead of monthly?
Yes. Starter, Growth and Pro each have an annual plan at $90, $190 and $290 a year, billed once a year on your Shopify invoice, which works out at two months free against paying monthly.
Does the SKU cap apply during the trial?
Yes. The cap belongs to the plan you are on and is enforced at sync time, so a Starter trial tracks up to 200 SKUs, Growth up to 1,000 and Pro up to 2,000.
How do I stop billing once the trial is over?
Uninstalling Restoc from your Shopify admin ends billing. Deleting your account in Settings, then Account, also cancels any active Shopify charge and removes your store data at once.
